Question 74: (January 17th, 2015) Answer

Answer: $408.04.
This is a simple question. The important part is to solve it quickly.
The car travels 27 miles per gallon. The distance travelled was 2727, which requires 101 gallons.
Now to find the cost of gas, we need to multiply 4.04 and 101.
Multiplying by 101 is same as multiplying by 100 and 1 separately and adding.
So 4.04 x 101 = 4.04 x 100 + 4.04 x 1 = 404 + 4.04 = 408.04
So the cost for the travel = $408.04.
